The tank or cistern is the centerpiece of a rainwater harvesting system.  It is the one component that requires the most attention since it drives the efficiency of the system but also the aesthetics of the system as well.  The cisterns represented below are the main cistern choices on the market today.  IWS has installed practically every kind of cistern on the market.

While the following rainwater collection tanks are available in Austin and the rest of Texas, they may not be available locally for you.  Once you identify the type of rainwater harvesting cistern you want, you should search locally to see if it is available.  Shipping these tanks, while feasible, will add cost and increase your rainwater catchment system’s cost per gallon.

Did you know...

During an average year of rainfall, a typical 2,000 square foot house in Austin could collect almost 40,000 gallons of rainwater.
