The rainwater is used for irrigation use only. The system collects rainwater from roughly 4,000 square feet of roof through a &#8220;wet&#8221; collection piping system. Therefore, the system will harvest about 2,500 gallons of rainwater per inch of rainfall. In central Texas, this will net about 75,000 gallons of rainwater on an annual basis.<\/p>\n<p>There are many different configurations for these rainwater harvesting systems which encompasses collection efficiency, cistern aesthetics, and budget.
