This Energy Efficient Home is All in the Family

EcoBuilding Pulse featured a story about one of our good architect friends, Alex Finnell. Alex owns Finn design build and designed a very cool and efficient home for his parents here in Austin. He was able to design a home that received a 5 Star rating from the Austin Green Building program while incorporating accessibility features since his parents may face mobility issues that may require them to use wheelchairs in the future. We worked with Alex to design the rainwater harvesting system on the project. The systems collects from approximately 2,000 sf into a 2,500 gallon corrugated metal cistern. The rainwater collection system feeds the landscape sprinkler system.
