Residential Project of the Month: 20,259 gallon potable rainwater system in Wimberley

This client wanted a potable water supply, and we delivered! This was a full-scale project: we supplied everything from the tank to the electrical to the pump – the only aspect of the system we did not supply were the gutters. With over 325 linear feet of buried collection line, our crew dug some impressive trenches for this client!

Commercial Project of the Month: The Leaning Pear Restaurant’s rainwater system for lavatories

This project, also located in Wimberley, installed 2,400 gallons of rainwater harvesting potential for a hill-country inspired fusion restaurant. We salute businesses like the Leaning Pear who value their community and make lasting commitments to  sustainability.  Go check them out – you can wash your hands with pure rainwater before enjoying a delicious meal!

Water Conservation Tip

Secure your own water independence by installing a rainwater harvesting system! During the hot summer months, watering lawns, shrubs, or even vegetable gardens can be restricted to only once a week.  To avoid water restrictions, take control of your own water supply. Installing a rainwater harvesting system gives you water independence; whether it’s 250 gallons, 2,500 gallons, or 20,000 gallons – having some water storage at your home gives you peace of mind, rain or shine!

Local Business of the Month

The Leaning Pear serves up food and hospitality in the midst of the hill country’s flourishing sustainable food movement. Owned by two restauranters pursuing their dream of running an eatery centered on fresh, seasonal and local food, a philosophy they came to embrace while living abroad. Bonus – they are not only committed to the sustainable food movement – they have incorporated sustainability into their restaurant design as well, utilizing our rainwater systems for their lavatories!

Service Tips

The number one way to keep  your tank clean for the lifetime of your rainwater system’s use is to eliminate opportunities for debris to enter in the first place. As time goes on, trees around your home grow, sometimes extending above your gutter system. It’s important to periodically trim your branches to prevent leaves and other tree debris from entering your rainwater tank via the gutters. Simple pro-active planning can prevent clogged collection pipes down the line!
