2025 in Review…
2025 saw growth for IWS – we expanded into water filtration systems as well as fire tank design and installation- on top of installing over 50 rainwater systems! Here is a recap of the projects we installed last year:
- 17 potable rainwater systems
- 37 non-potable rainwater systems
- 8 well holding tanks
- 46 drainage solutions
- 5 graywater systems
- 8 fire protection tanks
- 909,220 gallons installed!
We are proud of our impact in preserving water resources and ensuring central Texas homes and businesses stay dry during times of unprecedented weather.
January is off to a wet start! We are happy to report most of our customers managed to avoid major damages to their rainwater system during the recent ice storms. Let’s hope the precipitation (but not the cold!) is indicative of the year ahead! We look forward to advancing rainwater collection in 2026 and continuing to support our customers in the care of their systems.

How Do You Plan for Drought with a Rainwater Harvesting System?
For those looking to reduce their usage of municipal water, or provide valuable water where the resources are lacking, rainwater harvesting stands out as a beacon of hope. Communities are offered [...]
Residential Project of the Month
One of our North Austin neighbors wanted to start harvesting rainwater to hand-water her garden. We installed a 1500 gallon poly tank wet rainwater harvesting system, complete with a first flush to divert the first and dirtiest portion of any rain event. We painted the collection lines to match, resulting in a visually striking rainwater system: win win!
Commercial Project of the Month
Another North Austin business, Alamo Glass, needed a major drainage solution to keep their warehouses from flooding during heavy downpours. Our team excavated their driveway to install a trench drain, channeling the water safely away from their entrance.
Water News You Can Use
A groundbreaking study from The Meadows Center for Water and the Environment at Texas State University provides Texans with new evidence that rainwater harvesting is not just an add-on, but a practical and fully reliable water-supply option anywhere in the state, even during the most severe droughts.
Tips for Preparing Your Plants and Landscape for Winter Weather
Occasional ice storms and hard freezes can cause significant damage to plants and trees, frost injury to leaves and buds, and root damage.
The World has Entered a New Era of Water Bankruptcy, With Irreversible Consequences
The global situation is so severe that terms like “water crisis” or “water stressed” fail to capture its magnitude, according to the report published Tuesday by the United Nations University and based on a study in the journal Water Resources.

Water Conservation Tip
Winterize outdoor faucets, pipes and pumps to prevent costly leaks due to freeze damage. You can use heat tape or foam insulation for exposed piping that has a danger of prolonged exposure to frigid temperatures, but the best bet is to drain any pipes that don’t need to keep standing water. Use a heat source like a small lamp to protect your pump and filtration equipment.
