Happy Holidays from IWS!
|
As 2025 comes to an end, we are reflecting on what a busy and productive year it has been, with over 100 completed projects last year! From drainage to fire tanks, our crews have been busy installing water catchment all over the the hillcountry. We are grateful that we could help folks live more sustainably by securing their own source of clean and reliable water. We now call so many of our customers friends after assisting with service and maintenance calls to keep their system running smoothly many years after installation. We are proud to have given our customers peace of mind that their foundation and landscaping won’t suffer during catastrophic rain events after installing thoughtful drainage solutions at their homes.
It’s been a busy year, and we are looking forward to spending some time with friends and family over the holidays. We wish all our customers throughout Texas a peaceful and bright holiday season! |

Residential Project of the Month

A customer in Elgin wanted to reduce his watering bills, so we installed a 2500 gallon poly tank to be used for irrigation. This is a wet system, with the tank about 150 feet from the house. The system is pressurized with a 1 HP pump in a poly pump house to protect it from the elements.
Commercial Project of the Month

We recently installed a 43,105 gallon Pioneer tank for a tiny house community in Spicewood. This project not only provides rainwater for the residents – it also serves as a fire protection tank! The system features 3 filtration units to sanitize the water for potable use before it’s pumped into the tiny homes to be enjoyed by residents.

Water Conservation Tip
Holiday season is upon us… and while that might look different for everyone, generally there are more parties, more family visiting, and more eating! Which inevitably leads to more washing up to be done. Whether you are having a dinner party or doing some holiday baking, using your dishwasher will help you conserve water. Running a full load in your dishwasher uses between 3-5 gallons of water per cycle, compared to an average of between 10-27 gallons used when handwashing. Only running full loads will help you conserve your rainwater when you have guests in the house and heightened water usage.

Service Tips
Service tip: don’t forget to winterize your rainwater system! If you are collecting over the winter, make sure your pipes are well insulated, and use an auxiliary heat source like heat tape or a lamp during extreme hard freezes. Although extreme weather in Texas is rare, we DO get hard freezes that do some serious damage. Pay attention to the weather and take extra precaution with your system to protect it when it drops below 32 degrees.
