Underground Fiberglass

Advantages:

  • Can be an economical underground storage solution for large volumes of water
  • Complete protection from any UV sunlight degradation over time
  • Available in a wide variety of sizes and capacities
  • Provides strength and durability for years of reliable performance
  • Provides a constant temperature of stored water year round
  • Fiberglass is inert to soil compounds which can degrade other tanks manufactured with other materials

Disadvantages:

  • This style of cistern can be very expensive at lower volumes of water storage
  • Excavation for cistern can be difficult in some areas
  • Manufacturing and distribution of underground fiberglass tanks can be localized, meaning they may be difficult to find in your area or costly to ship from their manufacturing facilities
  • Even though underground fiberglass tanks come in a variety of sizes, they are set sizes due to manufacturing efficiencies so there are “gaps” in their product sizing
