Hays County Rainwater Harvesting Incentive Program
The Hays County Development Services department is offering an rainwater harvesting incentive program which provides a property tax reduction of the rainwater collection system construction costs.
They want homeowners and business owners to make a smart choice to install rainwater harvesting systems to reduce the demand for treated water for potable and irrigation uses.
First time applicants must submit proof of cost for the rainwater harvesting system and all other documentation proving the system components and capital outlays, along with any sketches/drawings or pictures of the rainwater collection system and a copy of the inspection report from the Hays County Development Services Office. The exemption amount is based on the size of the system and the cost.
